Fred and Adele Astaire in “Smiles”

I see Fred and Adele are a trending topic today. I took this photo in the Ziegfeld Movie Theater in NYC before it was gutted and modernized. I think the movie promotional reel  for this stage show is the only surviving footage of them dancing, but maybe a historian can comment with better info. Mentioned in the book 📚 “The Astaires” by Kathryn Riley. There might be a YouTube clip of that somewhere.

They Shall Not Grow Old

In addition to Observing the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 this year with the American Legion, I also got to see the remarkable film “They Shall Not Grow Old”  at the AMC uptown theater.  The preservation of this world war one footage  is incredible, the movie truly transports you back in time .

Rickey Geiger

Very sad to hear about the passing of Rickey Geiger.  We have many fond memories of her coaching sessions with the North American dance teachers Association .  Here is a photograph of our graduation ceremony, for our teacher certification in 2011 .
